An interview with myself – for fun

my front yard in winter
My front yard – January 28, 2012
While I was at the hairdresser, I read a page in Good Housekeeping, where they asked these questions to a celebrity. And I thought it would be fun to try it here. So here goes nothing.

Favorite Family Recipe
My husband’s favorite recipe is a Shepherd’s Pie. My daughter’s is anything pasta. For me, I have to say ANY recipes done in the slow cooker, such as my baby back ribs.

Biggest house disaster
I’d have to say when Quebec got the Ice Storm in January 1998. We were without power and water for 13 days. We have a fireplace in the living room but since our house is an open concept (so no doors to the living room) it was very hard to keep the heat in there.

At some point, we hanged a big tarp to try to keep warm. We slept on the floor in sleeping bags, with long johns, hat and scarf.

I made some soup on a grill in the fireplace and if I remember grilled cheese. My daughter was 9 at the time, there was no school of course, so we played games all day long. The scenery outside was beautiful.

Household chore I actually enjoy
Are you kidding…ok maybe, just maybe, when I’m in the mood to get rid of stuff.

I’d do anything to avoid
You already know that answer…Cooking of course ๐Ÿ™‚

I love to shop for
Anything at Costco. If you don’t have Costco where you live, you’re missing out. One was recently opened 10 minutes away and I’m loving it.

I hate to shop for

My handbag today is
A Walmart edition, dark grey for winter and a light beige for summer.

I’m currently reading
James Patterson, 14th Deadly Sin, from the Women’s Murder Club. I love this series, but also his Private Agency series.

Bye the way, here is the place I’ve been buying my paperback books for a couple of years now, Book Depository – they are cheaper than in the stores, you don’t pay taxes, and they deliver worldwide for free. They are located in the UK and I’m in Quebec, Canada, and I get my books faster than if I would send a letter locally.

And I also have a Kobo eReader and I also found a site to buy cheap e-books, BookBub – how it works is that BookBub alerts you to limited-time free & discounted ebooks matching your interests.

I drive
A leased Toyota Corolla, that way I have a new car every 4 years and don’t have to worry about repairs.

On my bucket list
Well it is very short: To visit the Galapagos and get up close with penguins. Both items have been crossed off my list. I’m a happy camper ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s pretty much it.

What about you, can you answer a few of those?
